Bringing my skills and experience to enhance your Well Being
My original higher education studies were in Cell and Marine Biology. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology.
I attended a Naturopathic Medical School for a time, building on my understanding of the body’s functioning and learning about the importance of “patient’ or client centered care.
Since then I have explored body-centered psychotherapy, trauma healing therapy and physical therapy techniques, ultimately focusing on myofascial approaches in treatment.
As a bodywork practitioner I draw on a tool-box of techniques that can bring relief for a range of structural and tissue based limitations. Orthopedic massage approaches inform my work. I am continually learning.
Along the way I experienced Rolfing, the original form of Structural Integration, and because of the benefits that I experienced I am now a practitioner within the tradition begun by Dr. Ida Rolf.
Kinesis Myofascial Integration, now called Anatomy Trains Structural Integration, is the academy where I underwent my initial training. I am now a Board Certified Structural Integrator and offer a 12 session Series in this work.
During individual Massage and Deep Tissue sessions I bring enhanced skills learned from taking numerous clients through the Series.
I have two adult children from an earlier time, and with my Brazilian wife, one courageous and enthusiastic 14 year old son. I am originally from Canada and have been living in Portland since 1976.
I have a positive outlook on Life and Spirituality.
In summary, I bring competent skill, professional care, and a welcoming attitude into every session.
Thank you for your interest and I hope to see you in my office and on the table soon!
